Type locality, Bay of Tarrafal, ZSM 36566 (holotype of Didogobius wirtzi, 3.05+0.81 cm SL, male). Only single specimens were observed at the entrance of burrows of the axiid shrimp, Axiopsis serratifrons; at 16 m depth over coarse sand from Tarrafal Bay on Santiago Island at a diving location named 'Chinese Wall' (15° 17.14'N, 23°45.5'W), where the photographs in their original habitat were taken. Found common at the south of Sal Island, 15- 25 m depth (P. Wirtz, pers.comm., no photographs or specimens available). (Ref. 79573). Also Ref. 92840, 79573. |
